Born in Kirklareli, Turkey in 1941. Graduated from Istanbul
Technical
University, Geological engineering in 1965. Casted by the spell
of
water-color while working among rocks and stones, Taner Ercan
does not
intend to search about the prblematic of art itself other than
reflecting
the outerworld reality. He uses the advantages of water-color
technique to
represent on paper, his impressions of reality; thus he may be
considered an
impressionist. His paintings are also a source of documentation
for the
Turkish history and architecture.
